Michael - Avocat à la cour / Partner -  heads the Banking & Finance practice of the Firm. Michael has been practising law for over 17 years, has in-depth knowledge of the Banking & Finance sector and of the Insurance and Reinsurance sectors.

Michael is one of the most experienced lawyer in Fund Finance. In 2021, Michael has been awarded by the Fund Finance Association (New York) for his contribution to the industry, which is the highest recognition in this field. He has been recognised as one of the Most Influential Fund Finance Experts of 2022 by The Drawdown magazine (London) (September 2022 publication) and Legal 500 EMEA 2022 quoted Michael as “very knowledgeable on fund finance transactions".

Michael’s practice covers Capital Markets and Insurance and Reinsurance. He authored the capital markets section of the Code des Sociétés et des Sociétés Cotées (Companies and Listed Companies Code), a book of reference on the topic, published by Legitech.

He is author of various legal publications and is a regular speaker at conferences. Michael taught Fund Finance at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (Paris) and at the Excellence Program of the University of Maastricht.

Michael is Co-Chair of the Capital Markets Union Technical Committee of the LPEA (Luxembourg Private Equity and Venture Capital Association).

He holds a master in Law from the University of Brussels (Distinction), a LLM from the University of London (Queen Mary & UCL consortium) and a certificate in Negotiation from Harvard Law School.

Before, joining Praxio, Michael worked for international and local law firms including Clifford Chance Luxembourg, Wildgen and Pinsent Masons Luxembourg.

Michael is admitted to the Luxembourg Bar (avocat à la Cour).

● Assisted a consortium of major banks in the scope of an ESG linked umbrella subscription facility granted in favour of various private equity funds.
● Assisted a major bank in the scope a subscription facility with ESG features granted in favour of a Luxembourg real estate fund.
